Morgan Christner has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after helping the Iowa Wesleyan softball team pick up two wins over spring break.
Christner started five games for the Tigers, finishing with a 2.17 earned run average. In 29 innings of work, she tallied 48 strikeouts, including 12 in each of IW’s wins over Centenary and Immaculata.
On the season, Christner has started six games and appeared nine. She has a 5-2 overall record, including three shutouts. Christner has pitched 37.1 innings on the season and has only given up eight walks while striking out 65 batters.
She currently leads the league in strikeouts and wins and is fourth in earned run average. Christner is not only getting it done in the circle for the Tigers, but is helping her own cause at the plate. She is tied for third in the SLIAC with ten run batted in
