NEW LONDON — The second-ranked New London football team continued to flex their muscles on Friday night in an 82-8 win over Winfield-Mt. Union
The Tigers ran for nine touchdowns in their homecoming victory. Keontae Luckett had half of those, rushing for 71 yards and four touchdowns. Markel Luckett ran for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Isaac McSorley went for 67 yards and two scores, and Ryan Richey had one touchdown.
McSorley went 12-13 throwing the ball and found Mason Porter for two touchdowns. Porter finished the night with 63 yards on five catches.
The Tigers had four takeaways in the win. Shae Summerfield had an interception, and the trio of McSorley, Gavin Holmes and Darius Whaley had one fumble recovery apiece.
W-MU had the biggest special teams play of the day, a 75-yard kick return touchdown from Brandon Snowden. The offense was led by Keegan Atkinson, hwo ran for 45 yards on 14 carries.
Dauntae Oepping had trouble finding any gaps in the Tiger defense. He was 2-7 for 14 yards, all to Christian Gerot. Jacob Ford led the Wolves’ defense with 9.5 tackles.
