Panthers win home triangular, New London gets second

The Mt. Pleasant and New London golf teams were both at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club on Thursday evening. The Panthers and Tigers were joined by Fairfield for a triangular.

Mt. Pleasant took first in the meet, finishing the day at 166. New London placed second, scoring 185, and Fairfield was third, at 189.

The Panthers had all four scorers under 43. Bailey Shelledy took the top spot on the team, and second overall, with a 40. Trace White, Jake Moffett and Rhett Zeglen all scored 42.

Brevin Wilson finished the day at 48 for Mt. Pleasant. Reece Kempker was three shots behind him at 52.

Clayton Phillips won overall medalist honors. He led New London with a 38. Tyler Henecke placed second on the team, scoring 44.

Gabe Carter was third on the New London team, shooting a 50. Wyatt Haes scored a 53 for the fourth scorer. Nick Johnson ended at 58, and Ethan Streeter scored 68.

Mt. Pleasant will be at Washington for a tournament on Saturday, April 20. New London will be back at home on Friday, April 26, for a dual with Columbus.
