WAYLAND — WACO and Danville put on quite the show on Monday. The two teams combined for 169 points in one of the most high-scoring games of the season. WACO pulled out the win, dumping Danville 90-79.

In an incredible offensive display, WACO put up over 20 points in every single quarter. The Bears stuck right with them early on, though, and the Warrior lead was 21-20 after the first quarter and 42-37 at the halftime break.

Danville scored just 12 points in the third quarter, which normally isn’t a bad mark but didn’t quite live up to the pace Monday. WACO put up 21 points for the third quarter in a row and led 63-49 after three quarters.

The two teams combined for 57 points in the fourth quarter. Danville put up 30 of those points, but time ran out on the Bears and WACO won their seventh game in eight tries.

Nik Coble absolutely went off in the win. Coble finished the night with a ridiculous 33 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and four blocks. Braden Hammond was unconscious from three-point land, going 7-7 overall and 6-6 from down town to finish with 20 points.

Drew Kissell scored 12 points in the win. Matthew Leichty had eight. Colton Horak went for seven points, 10 assists and four steals. Gabe Reichenbach had six points, and Elijah McGohan had four.

WACO is now 13-4 this season. They’ll be on the road on Thursday, Feb. 7, when they head south to play Holy Trinity.
